On 17 July 2024, real estate developer LNK Properties celebrated a key milestone in the construction of the Heart of Hanza residential complex by ceremonially laying a time capsule at the project site on Hanzas iela 3b, right in the heart of Riga’s historic centre. With a total planned investment of €35 million, the building is set to be completed and delivered in 2026.
The event brought together key figures behind the project. Speeches were delivered by Aleksandra Strode, Member of the Board at LNK Properties, Genadijs Kamkalovs, Director of LNK Industries, Klāvs Galenieks, Lead Architect at AB3D, Līga Kohtanena, Senior Sales Consultant at Latvia Sotheby’s International Realty, and Dmitrijs Latiševs, Chairman of the Board at BluOr Bank.
The time capsule – a symbolic gesture for future generations – included a collection of thoughtfully chosen items: current issues of Diena and Dienas Bizness, a commemorative Bank of Latvia coin with a heart symbol, a message for the future, a spirit level, a heart-shaped keychain, a bank badge, and a flash drive containing the project’s architectural blueprints.
“The name ‘Heart of Hanza’ reflects both the historical roots of Riga and the building’s remarkable location,” said Aleksandra Strode during the ceremony. “This area – the Hanseatic Quarter – is transforming rapidly, with new homes, cultural spaces, business centres, and green parks all emerging to support the needs and well-being of future residents. At the meeting point of the Art Nouveau district and Riga’s business core, Heart of Hanza will become a true urban oasis, featuring enclosed private gardens, children’s playgrounds, pet-friendly spaces, and dedicated zones for rest and recreation. The vibrant street-facing side along Hanzas iela will be illuminated and landscaped, contributing to a safe, inviting, and lively environment.”
The Heart of Hanza complex will consist of 127 apartments, ranging from 49 to 350 m², and will be built to Class A energy efficiency standards. Each apartment will offer modern features such as individual heating control and advanced ventilation with heat recovery – ensuring comfort, sustainability, and long-term value.
The project is developed by LNK Properties, with architectural and interior design by AB3D, and construction executed by LNK Industries, one of Latvia’s leading construction companies.
